Currently, Professor of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University and Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department in the British University in Egypt (BUE). Holding CEng and CSci titles, as well as being a Fellow Member of the IOM3 Royal Institute. H index number is 21 (100 peer reviewed papers Scopus cited publications). Award for best submission for innovation in teaching by Unit of Teaching and Learning Projects; Ministry of Higher education Egypt. Best supervised PhD Cairo University 2014 and 2016. Cairo University Research Excellence Award 2014 and Academic Excellence Award 2018. Visiting Professor Sept. 2006 Freiberg Technical University, Foundry Institute; Oct 2013 to Institute of Metallurgy I-MET Claustahl; Oct 2014 Giesserei Institute GI Aachen. Member of Standards and Quality Assurance National Committee. Recognized by RUFORUM Annual General Assembly (2021) among 17 individuals who have contributed significantly to development in Africa. Main job is teaching undergraduate and postgraduate classes; leading research groups; writing research proposals; reviewing activities: journals, books, conferences, workshops and articles; offering consultations to more than 50 Egyptian industrial and service facilities on manufacturing, failure analysis, materials development, risk analysis and management, material validation and compliance with national standards and industrial training; conducting research and industrial services relevant to metallurgical industries. Leader of many research groups on a number of significant topics in the field: 1) Steelmaking, Foundry, manufacturing and heat treatment research groups, 2) Advanced alloys and materials and nanodispersed composites research groups, 3) Renewable energy materials research groups, 4) Sustainability of materials & renewable energy projects.
